MoMA - New York!

I was lucky enough to visit New York recently and while I was there went to the Museum of Modern Art. It's probably one of my favourite places I've ever been in my life! However, although it was amazing to see all the really famous pieces of work they have in there (too many to name), it was exhibitions on the Russian Avante Garde and Bauhaus/Mid Century Design that I really was drawn to.

I've never really looked at Bauhaus before as I thought it was kind of a basic art school thing to be into and it wouldn't actually be that good, but I now eat my words. The posters were absolutely incredible just in terms of how they use shape, colour and type. Both those and the Russian work has really inspired me to try and use type more in my work as I now see it can be really effective, especially for posters.
